On August 25, 2022, the Business School invited researcher Lv Xinye, president of the Journal of Agricultural Economic Issues, to make a report entitled "How to Carry out Case Studies".
Researcher Lv Xinye shared the development trend of agricultural economics research and the issues that need to be studied in the field of "agriculture, rural areas", etc., focusing on why and how to conduct case studies. He pointed out that at present, China's agricultural economics is in a rare historical development stage, but its research conditions and output still have many deficiencies. The research of agricultural economics must be based on basic facts, scenario dependence and correlation evidence, so as to find problems, deduce theories and promote theoretical innovation. Case study is a new method of agricultural economic research, but its development is far from mature, and there are still many important problems to be improved. Lu stressed that case studies should summarize and refine results from practice, which will help to deeply understand realistic problems, promote the construction of localization theory with Chinese characteristics, and promote the diversity of research paradigms and research methods.
The academic report was presided over by Professor Li Zhibin, vice president, and attended by more than 70 young teachers from the Department of Agricultural Economics, the Department of Economics and the whole school.
