Finance (Sino-US Two-way Exchange Program for College Students)

Finance (Sino-US Two-way Exchange Program for College Students) relies on “China-US 1+2+1” dual degree program, which is a two-way communication program between China and the United States to cultivate talents. “China-US 1+2+1” dual degree program is a formal education for an undergraduate degree which is jointly organized by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), China Center for International Educational Exchange (CCIEE) , and American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) within the framework of “China-US Talent Development ProgramBusiness School of Yangzhou University have been cooperating with Northern Arizona University on Finance major since “China-US 1+2+1” dual degree program between these two universities was appraised by Jiangsu Education Department and China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), and 30 students are planned to be recruited. These students should study at Yangzhou University during the first year and the fourth year, and they should study at University of Northern Arizona during the second and third years. Those who complete courses and credits required by both universities for graduation can obtain the undergraduate diploma and certificate of bachelor's degree on finance from Yangzhou University as well as certificate of bachelor's degree on finance from Northern Arizona University. During the first year, teachers from both universities must undertake teaching work to strengthen students’ English skills, and multiple compulsory courses are provided by Northern Arizona University. During the second year, students should study at Northern Arizona University for professional courses.

 

Domestic tuition fees are RMB 5,200 per academic year, and accommodation fees are charged separately. Tuition fees for the study in the United States are charged according to the actual fees charged by Northern Arizona University on that year, and food and lodging expenses are charged separately. Program cooperator, China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) charges services, US non-immigrant visa application fees, and so on.

 

Northern Arizona University (NAU), founded in 1899, is a well-known national comprehensive university in the United States. It is located at Flagstaff, Arizona, close to the world-famous Grand Canyon and gambling city, Las Vegas. NAU was ranked top 500 in the Thames World University Rankings in 2017, and was ranked 111th in the United States, and was ranked 78th in the US Public University rankings by the Washington Monthly. NAU offers 144 bachelor program, 88 master program, 9 doctoral program, and has more than 27,000 students. It is known as focusing on students’ personal development and emphasizing students’ social participation. NAU was awarded Paul Simon International Award by NAFSA in 2012 for its emphasizing on international education.

 

The W. A. Franke College of Business of Northern Arizona University, is a college accredited by The Associate to Advanced Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which is the highest certification in business school accreditations. AACSB provides authoritative certification for undergraduate education for business school, graduate education for business administration, and discipline for accounting. It should be noted that not all AACSB members have obtained AACSB certification, and only members that meet the “certification standards” are called “Certified AACSB Member”. According to statistics, only 5% of business schools in the world have obtained this elite certification. In China, only 13 schools such as Tsinghua, Peking University, and Fudan University have obtained this certification, which is considered as a pride for many business schools.

 

The W. A. Franke College of Business offers students a unique entrepreneurship course called “Bizblock”, which is only offered by five universities across the United States. Through this course, students have the opportunity to simulate the whole process of building a company and have a road show for their business plan in front of Arizona venture capitalists, so that students’ research abilities, communication and teamwork skills will be exercised and enhanced. This program is funded, and a million-dollar investment fund pool is provided for the real-life operation of advanced investment courses. In addition, The W. A. Franke College of Business prepares the students to continue their studies for master or doctor degree.

 

The W. A. Franke College of Business is regarded as one of the 15 colleges with the highest satisfaction among American graduates by the magazine of “Entrepreneur”. The college receives an invitation from Warren Buffett in every October to have lunch and then have a talk with him in Omaha, and the college sends 20 outstanding students each time to attend this activity.  The college is the only one which has received invitations from Warren Buffett for five consecutive years.
